EDIE assists physicians, nurses, and social workers individualize care for patients by supplementing the traditional medical treatment model with a multi-discipline care plan. This cross discipline care plan gives care providers a comprehensive understanding of the patient's needs.
This program does not replace the medical model, but enhances it by augmenting care in the emergency department and providing a powerful tool in the treatment of a disenfranchised and sometimes treatment reluctant population.
